 | A New Look | | |
(07/31) We are officially one week away, and counting, from the 2009 AMS Knoxville 360 Nationals. While we really will NOT be sporting a "new look" for this annual event, there will be a few changes in the DARE 2 Team sprinter in seven days. Here's what you'll see (or maybe not see):
GMS Wing- Through the help of Rasmussen Auto Supply and Moses Motor Company, we'll be sporting a unique Steve Grossenbacher-made Top Wing. Now, from the stands, you won't notice anything different. But Steve has promised us a state-of-the-art, completely updated wing- and we're excited to represent our homeboy's craftsmanship!
Front Axle- Again, you're gonna have to look long and hard to recognize this change, but we've gone from a powder-coated black to a wider, chromed front axle, with new pieces bolted on. When you're hitting speeds like you do at K-ville, you'd better have good parts on your car- especially your front end.
Helmet- This one will be up to the guru, Nate Harris. Jr. has a new Simpson helmet that is waiting to be "gussied up" by Nate and may provide a little more pizzaz in what is normally a black head cover with silver and red. Could be interesting.
Powerplant- At the beginning of July, we shipped our motor back over to Des Moines to have Lee put the finishing touches on prior to this big event. It was our hope to be ready at least for Crawford County Speedway's ASCS race, but to no avail. Nevertheless, it's our hope that you'll be able to tell the change in our engine as Jr. flies down the straights!
Sponsors- We've also been working on securing some new sponsors prior to this race to complement our already awesome partners. There could be some big names coming our way so, if that happens, be sure to keep logging on to see how it may change the scenery of the famed black duece!
